Allure: Labadee Haiti

It's not an island, but it IS a private beach....and yes, when you get off the ship, you are there!

Labadee is lovely....it's on the northern coast of Haiti, but you really can't consider yourself having been to Haiti....you aren't allowed off the private area, and locals can't come in, unless they've been hired by RCI.

In the past few years, they've added a zip-line, roller coaster and other amenities. You can rent waverunners (in a follow the leader sort of thing) or snorkel.....or just swim and sun! There is plenty of shade, too.

Lunch is served by the ship....aside from the "straw market", everything will be paid for (that requires payment!) with your seapass card. Alcohol and soda will have a charge, as will any "excursions". The lunch, lounge chairs, hammocks, sun and surf are included in your fare!

Enjoy!!!

You should probably take some money for tips. For example, the Haitians who drag lounge chairs where you want them kind of hope for tips, usually a buck or two per chair.

I often leave a tip for the Haitian welcome band near the main gate. They always act so appreciative.

We tip the tram driver if we ride the tram full circuit just for fun, but very few people tip the tram drivers. I know they appreciate it though.

You do not need to tip the guys who run the zipline or the Dragon Tail coaster. The zipline has a lot of staff and you'd be broke tipping all of them.
