RCCL - WOW Sale

I have heard several people mention "WOW Sales".

  • When do these typically happen?
  • Is it one time a year or throughout the year?
  • RCL is flashing a big sale starting Monday, December 26 - is this the "WOW Sale"?
  • Are there certain times of the year to be attentive to the RCL site?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make sure we are armed to take advantage of any special pricing. We have signed-up for notifications from RCL for specials, etc. (and have been, perhaps I overlooked it ).

Thanks for any advice you can share.

(Have a safe and happy holiday. :))

I think WOW sales are a lot of hype with very little substance. The real deals happen when all of these SUPPOSED sales don't produce enough results and then the cruise lines have to find another way to get the ships filled up.... by dropping the price.

Haha. How cynical. But I think you are right. :)

You can still take advantage of any price drops as long as it's not after final payment date. We booked our Australia / NZ b2b during a WOW sale - $200 OBC for each leg - and still got huge price drops for "over 55" rates.

I am aware that you can take advantage of price drops. However, not if they are for new bookings only such as on Tuesday sales specials.

The WOW sale was really beneficial for us. I booked two of my friends on our cruise during that sale and then my "gift" to them was to pay for their deposit. THEY had no clue how much their deposit was, just that I was nice and paid it for them. :) So see, WOW sales = your friends thinking you're nicer than you really are. Haha!
