Celebrity Eclipse Activities

Can someone enlighten me on activities and nightlife on the Eclipse.

Planning a spring break cruise with family of all ages and not sure

if Celebrity will cater to all or at least most.

Thanks!

We were on the Eclipse last year for Spring Break and will be on her again this year for Spring Break. IMHO, there are a range of activities on board during the day to cater to all ages, but I think the nighttime may be a bit different. There are the shows, which can attract a varied age group, and of course the casino is strictly adult orientated, but I found that the bars and the nightclub were not as crowded as I thought they would be. There were people around, just not the party atmosphere that I expected. We have two kids, 12 and 8, and they found plenty of things to do, and my wife and I enjoy a drink or three, and found our share of things to do as well. All in all, I would say that there are plenty of things to occupy your time, games, shows, classes, dancing, wine and food tastings, etc. it's all there. Hope that helps...

I sailed on the eclipse during march break last year. I went with my best friend, just two women early 30s to just have a relaxing "girl time" vacay away from the husbands and kids.

Nightlife was very different from the nightlife you would experience on royal Caribbean. I say things died down around 11pm. we hung out at one of the bars and it was literally just us two and the band. there were times when I walked around and the singing groups/bands/lounge singers were singing to just the bartenders.

the casino was dead. the only action was at one roulette table. I rarely heard the slot machines.

the show we went to was just "ok".

overall it was quiet and relaxing I would sail on the eclipse again, but not for the entertainment but for the Persian Garden.

Just off the Eclipse. I'm not a big one for entertainment because I like to go to bed early, but we had our 17 year old daughter with us so we felt the need to do things with and for her. At the moment the cruise director on Eclipse is Mike Gibbons - a Londoner who has the energy of the Energiser Bunny and is a lot of fun. The Activities co-ordinator is an Australian named Maria who is just the same.

We found plenty to do. After dinner each night we played Pub Trivia (and won:), we went to at least 4 shows which contrary to what we had read here were not of a similar standard to a high school musical. They were great and on one night they did a Masque Interactive musical in the Grand Foyer which was amazing. We played Bingo, did dance lessons and went to the "Beyond the Podium" lectures. There was live music in many places and dancing too.

If you want water slides, bowling alleys and climbing walls - you aren't going to find them but i thought the options for entertainment were plenty, varied and a lot of fun. The staff work very hard and appreciate passengers joining in.

When is spring break? I think it varies depending on what part of the country. We are cruising March 11, not sure if that is spring break or not. Actually would enjoy it being less crowded in the evening. Just curious.

My son will be on Spring break March 11-16--I hope it doesn't spoil your plans! We are cruising mid Feb. and I was really hoping it would not coinside with Spring break. I love my kids and their friends, but don't want to party with them on my yearly cruise! :D

That was our experience too David! Just loved Mike and Maria, they brought a lot of genuine energy to their jobs. Our favorites were the Masque party, Dancing with the Officers and the late night comedians. Of course, the Hot Glass Show is quite unique educational and entertaining too. We often wanted to attend 2 events at the same time, there was so much going on!!
