I am just off the Breakaway and they had craft/scrapbooking classes. I would think the Epic will be the same. Sometimes it will just say Arts/Crafts on the Dailies but it won't give you details.

Thanks for your reply,

I will search the dailies once aboard ..

Hi SliceOfLife,

Which ship do you prefer? The Epic or the Breakaway?

Can you list the pros & cons of both as comparisons?

Ohhh.. that's a tough one.

They are very similar in ways but also different. I love the size of Spice H20 on the Epic, but I like the waterfalls in Spice that the Breakaway has. Lets face it, the little pool in Spice on the Epic is so tiny, I don't know what the point of it was.

The placement of Shenghi's on the Breakaway is horrible, right next to the casino, yuck!

The waterfront of the Breakaway is the best, you're connected to the sea, plenty of places to stand and watch the water go by, you can eat outside, and it's just all around awesome.

I love the orange "toilet" bowl slide on the Epic, it was so much fun. I did like the freefall slides on the Breakaway but that was a lot of heart pumping adrenaline!

I did like the new set up of Taste/Savor on the Breakaway. They were better laid out as in you felt like you were in an intimate dining area because of wall placements. If you peaked around a wall you found another section of the dining room. I really liked that cozy feeling.

I think the pool deck on the Epic is set up a bit better, it's more open feeling. The Breakaway feels more like pool deck sections. There is the main pool and hot tubs, then the marketplace sort of cuts the deck in the middle and then you have the slides, small pool, and kiddie pool.

My husband loved the Ropes Course on the Breakaway, he was entertained for hours up there.

I think the Breakaway has more to do since it has the Ropes Course and mini golf which the Epic doesn't have.

Honestly, it's a toss up. I would happily sail the Epic and Breakaway again (and the Getaway) when it comes out.

If you liked the Epic but didn't like the bathroom set up or the disconnect from the ocean, you will love the Breakaway.

Hi

We are going on the transatlantic trip from Barcelona on 20/10/13 with Epic. Would like any information on stateroom 9264

Bill

I am pretty sure the bed is by the entrance and the couch is by the balcony. I sailed in an Aft cabin so I can't really help you besides the bed position.

Hi Craftygran,

You don't say when you're sailing, but you can look at the Freestyle Dailies today!

KeithJenner posted all of them recently. They're titled Freestyle Dailies from the Epic in the Med. I also posted a link on the roll call board.

Thanks, I'm glad people are still enjoying the pictures a few years later!

Enjoy your upcoming cruise.

Certainly, we are going in July. First time on Norwegian and Epic, and your photos got me very excited!

Thanks for answering my question!

We were meant to go on either Epic W/B TA or Breakaway b2b Bermuda/Bahamas last fall but both fell thru due to personal family reasons (had to spend time in the UK).

This fall we are thinking of doing b2b Getaway.

The comparisons sure help.
