The size of the "B" Category balconies on the port and starboard sides of the ship on decks 8, 9, and 10 are all the same size I believe. The only difference with any of the "B" Category balconies might be in the few "BA" Category balconies that are in the aft section of the ship...those might be a bit larger. The "B" balconies on Deck 10 have a larger ceiling overhang than those on Decks 8 & 9, which helps a tiny bit with extra shade on the balcony as well as keeping a bit more rain off the balcony (if the weather isn't good).

The "A" Category balconies along the Starboard and Port sides of the ship are larger than the "B" balconies. The "A" balconies in the bow and stern sections, as well as the stern corners vary in size too. It should be noted that because of the terraced design of the bowand stern balconies, you may be "seen" from those balconies and promenade deck areas above. In addition, some of the "A" balconies in the bow section on the right side of the ship can be "viewed" from the DAWN's live web camera on the bridge.

Additionally, as noted on another NCL message board, there are some balconies in the forward areas on both the port and starboard sides of the ship that are not as "open" as the ones further back...they have been noted as being "framed". Just take a good look at a side view picture of the DAWN and you'll see what I mean.

Hope this helps in your cabin selections.

Thanks for the info. We are booked in a guaranteed mini suite....I keep thinking we should change that to an assigned cabin so we don't end up with an undesirable location and or (one of those undesirable balconies).

We booked the guaranteed mini suite only because we thought it might give us the opportunity to upgrade to a penthouse...but those upgrades seem to be fairly non-existant.

Im going to rethink our booking here. The guaranteed mini suite booking is not costing less money so there is no real advantage in it. icon_frown.gif
