Colorado Kat Posted February 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2012 In Jan 2012, there were maybe 8 cab drivers waiting around for passengers. (Parking is limited there.) I just kind of walking in to the center portion, and said we needed a cab ride back to the ship. One driver stood up and walked to me. I asked "How much?" and he said $5 pp. I said we came there for $4 pp, and he said that was because we were in a group van. Another driver stood up, and said he would take us back for $4 per person. By the time we got to his van, we had picked up another 4 people to head back.

wenglish28 Posted February 7, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2012 Just back from 2 weeks on St Kitts. A van to Shipwreck Bar is $22 each way. The more people the cost becomes less. The taxi driver will come back to pick you up for a set time. 2 beach chairs and a fixed shade was $10. The bar sells good food at reasonable prices. At the exit to the port some drivers will state prices and then gather more passengers.
kapcruiser Posted February 18, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2012 Is the beach area nice?
dancing bear Posted February 18, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2012 It's a long beach with about 10 yards of open space from the brushline to the water. Half rock and half sand in most places, There is a fancier, more expensive club about a quarter-mile to the right of the Shipwreck restaurant. The monkeys and mongoose are at Shipwreck. They keep them about 10 yards from the picnic tables at the restaurant...which offers inexpensive food and drinks. Cabs are there to take you back to the port for $4-$5 per person.
