Tours after disembarking in NYC - where to store luggage

Our ship disembarks at 8 am,and we would like to take a general tour of New York City. Does anyone know a good way to do this, since we would have our luggage with us? Sure don't want to lug it with us on a HopOn/HopOff type of tour. We will schedule a later evening flight for our return home, so would have about 8 - 10 hours to tour before having to be at LaGuardia. Thanks for any suggestions.

There is a luggage check at the Macy's in Harold Square (34th and 6th). The last time I used it was a few years ago so I'd call just to check. But it was free, all you have to do it tip.
