hillslife Posted September 20, 2012 #26 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Has anyone taken the public bus...where would you catch it when getting off a ship? Time? Fare? Do they run pretty frequently? Don't want to miss the ship, but sip old love to see this hotel...
Iwannabeatraveler Posted September 25, 2012 #27 Share Posted September 25, 2012 Just as an aside, the beach is shared with the JW Marriott next door. Maybe someone is knowledgebale about their beach access... It is easy, as someone else posted, to get on the beach through Aulani, but to get back through the pool area we did need to use the room key. There is a chapel next door to Aulani and a path around the beach so I am sure you could get get back up to the road somehow. Also, just a thought, But if you made lunch reservations and beached before hand, you may be able to get back through the pool area by asking the guard, or the guard may tell you where to get back through. As someone who paid a pretty penny to stay at the crowded resort, I can see why they try to limit the pool areas to paying guests. It was crowded with just the paying guests! CaribbeanBound Posted September 26, 2012 #28 Share Posted September 26, 2012 Beware rush hour. It can be over 90-minute to drive during rush hour (4:00 pm to 6:30 pm). The fastest you can drive it is about 45 minutes with no traffic in the middle of the night.
