Safe question on mariner

If I recall correctly, the safes on the Voyager required a credit card to operate them, and we were told not to use your ship card. I like to leave credit cards in the safe, so does the Mariner have the same system, and if so, can you actually use your ship card?

Most ships have a four digit code that you create. If you do have a swipe card safe, you can use an old hotel door card or a loyalty card from your drugstore or grocery store.

My recollection from other threads is the credit card type are older and most ships had switched to "select-a-code". I thought only Monarch and Majesty had the card type still. Mariner is Generation II of the Voyager class and Voyager (being namesake for the class) is the oldest so I am expecting a push button safe.
