First booking on NCL

A few weeks ago, I booked my first cruise on NCL- going to Europe on the Epic. My other cruises have been on Carnival and have been fine. I like the experience of cruising and don't get too hung up on the negatives. Food has always been fine, a little crowded for my taste, but I really like trying new things. I hadn't really considered cruising on NCL, but like the idea of the studio rooms and, of course, going to Europe.

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with NCL so far. I got a card in the mail from my cruise consultant thanking me for booking and emails with helpful information from NCL itself. I don't think I ever heard from Carnival after my booking, so this is impressive, so far. I guess I'm impressed with little things. I'm hoping the rest of the experience is good, too. Can't wait for the cruise itself. Anyone else been in a studio room on the Epic with advice, suggestions, etc. for things to do or look for? I'm so excited for Europe, and honestly probably won't spend that much time on the ship since there are 5 ports.

I haven't booked with NCL yet. I'm thinking about cruising with Dawn that sail out of Tampa in Jan 2013. I used to book my previous cruises with Auto Club and also picked up the brochures from their office, but they don't have any NCL brochure  I ordered the brochure from the NCL web early this week and two days later I received phone call from a NCL rep. He said that the brochure was on the way and gave me his phone number if I have any questions. (I'm impressed).

I asked my T/A why I can't get NCL brochure there, she said NCL is not their Co. approved cruise line but she'll be glad to book my NCL cruise through her. If she doesn't want my business because of her Co. policy, I can book direct with NCL or warehouse club. No problem. :)

There are a lot of reviews in the forums from the Epic. If you use the search function on the right side (dropdown) from the main NCL forum screen you can find a bunch. You might want to put in "Epic Studio", "Epic Studio Review", "Epic Review" and see what you end up with. User mitsugirly has posted a lot of great pictures of the studios as well.

One place to start is reading Don's review of his Epic cruise in a studio. A link to his review is in my signature.

Enjoy!

We have gone on a few cruises and decided to try NCL last September (Pearl). With all the NCL bashing we thought that it couldn't be all that bad so took a test trip.

We were pleasently surprised as it turned out to be a great time. We liked it so much that we are going on a Baltic cruise on NCL again in May.

That's the best review ever! Oh my goodness. I seriously can't wait for my cruise now. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

I booked online with NCL, and then have booked by phone with my cruise consultant from NCL. I've been impressed with their service and they are always friendly.

You're very welcome. Keep in mind that Don could have a great time in a dentist chair, but the review is still full of good info. :)
