General Star layout questions

I was looking at the Star Deck plans and have a couple of questions.

  1. How does Bier Garten work with the Suites on deck 14? Is it in front of them, or behind them, or what?
  2. How do you get to the kid's pool area?
  3. What are the busiest times at the Market Cafe (ie. when should I avoid it)?
  4. From what decks can you enter the Stardust theater?
  5. Can you go from the midship all the way forward on deck 6? Where are the openings for the Casino?

Thanks.

  1. Sorry the only way I got to the bier garten was from the pool deck up past the pool tiers, I thought it was on deck 13 (under the GV's)
  2. Sorry never used it so I don't remember
  3. We only used it around 11:30ish and it wasn't busy then
  4. 6 & 7
  5. Can you go from the midship all the way forward on deck 6? Yes there is a hall on the Starboard side, but to get to the back of the ship you have to go up to deck 7 at the MDR. Where are the openings for the Casino? From the hallway on the Starboard side of the ship on deck 6.

  1. Bier Garden is Forward of the pools and GV's on deck 14.
  2. Kids pool is all the way aft on deck 12 is think you go from the aft elevators down the STBD side to the pool. I don't have little kis so don't go there.
  3. Busiest times are breakfast (7-9) lunch (11-1) and dinner (4-7)
  4. Stardust theater is Decks 6 and 7 to enter/exit.
  5. You can go as far forward as the Stardust theater. You can't got to the forward crews deck area with hot tubs at the very bow. I beleive the Casino Opening is only on the STBD side. The Jewel class have a seperate opening from the forward elevaters to the casino, But I don't think the Star and Dawn do.

Thank you all very much. The picture was especially helpful. For some reason, I couldn't make the deck plans align in my brain, plus sometimes, they have walls drawn where you can actually walk through.

How does Bier Garten work with the Suites on deck 14? Is it in front of them, or behind them, or what?

Those in the Suites also must work in the Bier Garten.

How do you get to the kid's pool area?

First, have kids. And then teach your kids how to swim. But remember not to let kids swim for 30 minutes after eating a meal.

What are the busiest times at the Market Cafe (ie. when should I avoid it)?

The busiest times are when people are hungry and food is put out. Avoid it when there is no food and is closed.

From what decks can you enter the Stardust theater?

From the practice, practice, and practice decks.

Can you go from the midship all the way forward on deck 6? Where are the openings for the Casino?

The Casino has openings for card dealer, roulette wheel spinner, and showgirl. Apply within.

The only question that hasn't been answered is the kids pool :)

It is on deck 12 at the stern of the ship. You can take the aft elevator/stairs, walk through the Market Cafe and you're there. Yes, you have to walk by the ice cream station to get to the kids pool, so be prepared. There is a way to get there from the main pool area, but involves walking up and down a few sets of stairs. We found it easier to go through the Cafe. Just remember to wear your cover up, some people were refused entry even though they were trying to get to the kids pool.

My boys LOVED the kids pool, the little slides are fantastic, the hot tub is great (lovely view of the ship's wake) and the "main" pool was perfect for DS1 (6.5 yrs) to get some confidence floating and swimming on his own.

Thanks. My kids are older, but I was thinking this was a kind of hidden away area that may not have been discovered by many people for a more peaceful sail-away. I may be wrong though.

Also, early May in NYC, it may be a bit chilly for people to be swimming at that point.

Ugh. I apologize - my partner thinks he has a sense of humor!

It was packed for sail away in January out of Tampa, but that's because there were easily 200+ kids under 9 on the ship and the weather was warm and sunny ;)

However, the hot tub in this area is often quiet anytime after supper :)

:D I actually looked back at your history to see whether this was the type of post that you normally would post. To discover no it wasn't and so then was confused why this was posted :D

Thanks for clearing that up.
