DaninColo Posted April 4, 2012 #52 Share Posted April 4, 2012 We you on the excursion this last Thursday? Why do you ask? Did they leave someone else behind on Thursday too? Do these people have a habit of leaving people behind? Sounds to me like they do. Never again!

Sounds to me like they do. Never again! I just wondered because we had such a great time with them last week. We were waiting on someone that didn't show at 215..... And still wasnt there at 245. Denise was reluctant to leave but my opinion is the person wasnt showing. Anyway, it always amazes me when folks have such different experiences on the same thing. cruzinisgood Posted April 4, 2012 #55 Share Posted April 4, 2012 Nope....it was our favorite trip of the week. Yes, we had almost 3 hours free time ashore...but that's what we signed up for. In all fairness...Denise was aboard our boat and perhaps that makes a difference?? I wrote a review on Carnival main page entitled 3/25 Magic...there are pics as well Glad to hear you had a great time. Hope Denise is on ours when we go in May. We are looking at the wet & wild as we only want to be gone 3 hours and not on the beach all day. Just water and a little Margartaville. You mentioned shopping on the boat, what do they sell?
steph7021 Posted April 4, 2012 #56 Share Posted April 4, 2012 My daughter got half head braids:$20...we bought anklets, necklaces and a really pretty wrap. Then my son and his cousin were fascinated with the conch shell the captain blew...so they made us 2 of them while on the beach and sold them for $10 each! justlaff69 Posted April 5, 2012 #57 Share Posted April 5, 2012 My group has been to Jamaica 12 times over the last 10 years with the 13th booked for Aug 26th, and all 12 times we have taken this tour You've been to Jamaica 12 times and have gone to the same snorkeling spot each time???? There's a lot more things to do in Jamaica and it seems every tour stops at Margaritaville, if overpaying for food and drinks is what floats your boat. Try Dunns Falls, it's cool fresh water and it's a nice scenic ride. If salt water is your thing, there's a beach at the bottom. Pass on having a guide and take your time going up. We got a round trip taxi ride to Dr Beach for $6/person and then ended up in Margaritaville. Paid $8 for watered down margarita in a dixie cup as we watched others pay $15 for a pile of chips and SOME cheese,,,,yikes

blakeamy Posted April 13, 2012 #59 Share Posted April 13, 2012 After reading the negative comments, we still decided to book with them after reading mostly positive comments. We took the tour on March 28, 2012. We booked the snorkel and Doctor's Cave Beach for $35pp. I thought it was a great excursion overall. I was with 3 other adults, and there was also a family of 5 on the catamaran with us. There were supposed to be 2 more people, but we waited 30 minutes for them to get off the cruise ship. The catamaran ride was very enjoyable, the staff was great, and I loved the snorkeling. Doctor's Cave Beach wasn't the greatest beach, but I'm sure they are limited with where the catamaran can dock to bring people. The rickety chairs were $6 each as well as the umbrellas, but we did not pay to get in. The jerk chicken was really good here. The catamaran anchored out while we stayed at the beach for about 3 hours. I would have loved to stay on the catamaran longer, but we still had a great day! EnTnSA Posted April 14, 2012 #60 Share Posted April 14, 2012 We used these guys on our last cruise to Montego Bay and had a blast. Denise was extremely pleasant to deal with and the crew on the boat went out of their way to make everything as comfortable as possible for us. In fact, one of the ladies on the boat (crew) swam with my son (3 years old at the time) on a swim board so he could look through the glass at the rocks and fish we were swimming with. He was just talking about it today (over a year later) saying he wanted to go do that again. One of the guys in the crew danced and sang with my boy on board, they were giving folks foot massages and overall just really providing a good time. That said, I am really conflicted about the emails. Seems like such a night and day difference from the Denise that I talked to and met in Mo Bay. There is no excuse for them to treat customers that way, and speak that way. I was looking forward to booking this excursion again, and now I am a bit worried about it. EnTnSA Posted April 14, 2012 #61 Share Posted April 14, 2012 just so happens she is my sister. And in case you didn't know Denise is American. That's what I was going to say. I thought Denise was American....strange for an American to speak about American's in that way.
cruzinisgood Posted April 14, 2012 #62 Share Posted April 14, 2012 We are going them in May. Everything I've read about them has been postitive except this one group. There is two sides to every story. We've only heard one side.:)

MichelleChell Posted April 24, 2012 #64 Share Posted April 24, 2012 Wow sorry you had a bad experience with them. When we went with them we had a fantastic time and have recomended them to friends. They took us to snorkle. Had a trampoline thing they put in for all the kids to sit on. Then had the board with the little window for them to take turns using. After they dropped us off at the beach for like 2 hrs or so and picked us back up. We danced on the way back and purchased some cute anklets and necklaces. My daughter also had her hair braided. I agree there are 2 side to every story. to each there own I guess.
Setme2sail Posted May 7, 2012 #65 Share Posted May 7, 2012 We had a positive experience as well. Just back and had group of 11. We snorkled for about 1 hour, then sailed to Dr. Cave beach. We walked to Margaritaville, had lunch, then walked back to beach. Never once did we feel unsafe or were approached on beach by anyone. I would not hesitate to book with this tour company. We had a great time.

In fact Carnival change our itenerary and we did not know when we got off the ship if we even would have an excursion. But there was the catamaran waiting on us!!! They were wonderful. We told them we were going to Margaritaville and they told us they would pick us up there. So we just hung out there and sure enough they came and picked us up!! My group said the excursion was the best we did out of all our ports! We will be doing this again for sure!!!
BMurph1998 Posted May 8, 2012 #67 Share Posted May 8, 2012 Oh almost forgot I was so impressed they had a small trampoline they put in the water and a deck hand got on it with our 5 year old and and small child from the other group while we all snorkled. dna1990 Posted June 25, 2012 #70 Share Posted June 25, 2012 Just returned. Perfectly fine trip. Denise was on pier to greet us. Boat was not crowded. Nothing fancy but perfect for short trip and snorkle. Beach stop much better than expected. Picked up right on time.

I know there is alot to do in Jamaica, we don't snorkel, we do get in the water when they stop to let everyone snorkel, when we are on thier tour we normally have a big group with us and we run the show. We tell them what we want to do and they oblige. Never once have we had a bad experience with them. And we enjoy going to Margarettaville. Usually by the time we get there we have had several glasses of rum punch so we have never spent to much there. Of course we don't eat there. We are booked to go back in August and we will do this tour again.
James in SA Posted June 29, 2012 #72 Share Posted June 29, 2012 This excursion was recommended to us by Cruise Critic members on our very first cruise, and we had such a good time that we have done it again every time we have been in Montego bay since then. They have been nothing but nice to us and we keep going back because we feel safe and have a wonderful time. That is our experience. We are going to book with them again in September. cruzinisgood Posted June 29, 2012 #73 Share Posted June 29, 2012 We just went out with them in May. Had a great time. We were the only two on board. Got to snorkel for about 45 minutes then went sailing then off to Margarita ville. Didn't stay there long as it was packed. We went by 3 cruise boat snorkel tours, there were tied to reef right next to Doctor's Cave beach. You could swim to it, it was that close. But watching all the heads in the water was made us very happy we chose Jamaican Watersports. Waited with our escort outside till our ride arrived. Would use them again in a heartbeat.:)
