Solo cruisers on Majesty

A helpful forum member elsewhere has confirmed for me that Majesty will have dedicated single cabins like the other Thomson ships.

 

For solo cruisers this is generally a bad thing as for example Spirit/Celebration have single cabins back by the engines. Dream is somewhat better as there are a few singles forward so you only get the noise when the bow thrusters are operating.

 

It is not entirely clear where Majesty will have her single cabins but it appears that there might be 8 insides on deck 6 and 6 outsides each on decks 8/9. At least the insides are all either midships or forward?

 

Two things that attracted me to Destiny were the fixed dining and the choice of pretty much any cabin I wanted.

 

This makes P&O more attractive as i can get a single almost anywhere except in a suite!

Odd that what was classed by Louis as the better cabins (i.e. deluxe and superior), Thomson are classifying as singles. You would have thought that the smaller standard cabins would be the singles! :confused:

 

Hopefully for you though they might be good cabins then, much better than the ones on Spirit/Celebration and more of them too. Still odd though how Louis' cabin categories can differ so much to Thomson's when they're the same ship.

we had our new confirmation yesterday and have pre booked my sons single cabin on deck 8 ,we were going to be on deck 4 as we were on deck 3 on destiny but we have upgraded to be near him on deck 8. our friends are happy with their cabins they were on deck 6 outside on destiny and have had outside plus cabins on deck 8 on majesty.it does seem strange that the single cabins are deluxe ,my son will have a bigger cabin than us ...

I know that the deluxe cabins aren't as big as the deluxe cabins that were on Destiny, but it does seem strange to make some of the larger cabins singles.

The single outsides appear to be somewhat smaller than others of the same category on the Louis plans and the insides smaller than the deluxe insides on deck 6. Maybe the names just reflect the higher decks?

 

If, and it is a big if, Thomson retain these cabin locations it might be that Majesty will have the best single cabin locations in the Thomson fleet.

 

Of to the TA again tomorrow to meet my agent and hopefully she will agree to reserve the cabin I want. I can't do it because I am on a cruise! The idea is if I list my cabin preference in order then the highest available can be booked. I don't mind the location of any of the inside singles but would prefer one without cabins each side or a pull down berth.

The ones on Deck 6 seem quite small, but longer than the standard cabins. Deck 9 cabins seem an average size but Deck 8 cabins seem the largest.

 

Definitely looks like the best single cabins - just have to wait and see if the rest of the ship lives up to that.

Actually thomson at about 30% is pretty good compared with the 45% i am paying on Ventura next week. Of course for that I get a modern cabin with a fridge and tea making facilities plus free sweets and biscuits, plus the safe is free :D

Popped into the TA this morning and they have reserved cabin 6003 for me, paperwork to follow. So it seems confirmed that the inside singles on Majesty are on deck 6 and the outsides on decks 8/9. I am happy about this and might even consider Majesty for a summer cruise next year :)

still got the disease. Cruise was OK, ship fine, itinery fine, food fine, me not fine and the casino was a disaster, in fact so much a disaster that the casino manager bought me a drink :eek:

 

Really takes out the fun when you just want to crawl into bed after dinner:(

 

ps the Metropolis bar vibrates as much as Spirit/Celebration :)
