(April 21, 2005) -- Whether stepping out into the white nights of Russia or exploring Stockholm's old town, Princess passengers have a wealth of unique experiences waiting in the towns of the Baltic coast. In 2006 Princess will continue to lead in the Scandinavia and Russia cruise market with a variety of itinerary options and amenity-filled ships. Star Princess will return to offer two popular routes -- both featuring the opportunity to spend two full days among the grandeur and palaces of St. Petersburg. In addition, Sea Princess will offer a week-long Scandinavia getaway from Southampton. In total Princess will offer 14 Scandinavia/Russia sailings on three itineraries between May 15 and September 12, 2006. "Our Grand-class ships have certainly become the way to cruise the Baltic," said Jan Swartz, Princess' senior vice president of customer service and sales. "Combined with our overnight stays in St. Petersburg, Princess' exciting Scandinavia/Russia program truly is the best way to experience this region." 10-day Scandinavia/Russia -- Star Princess offers two itineraries to the unforgettable destinations along the Baltic Sea. Sailing roundtrip from Copenhagen, the ship calls at Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg (overnight), Tallinn (Estonia) and Gdansk (Poland) on both routes. In addition, one itinerary features a visit to Oslo and a dramatic sailing through the Oslo fjords, while the other offers an opportunity to visit Berlin from the port of Warnemünde as well as an overnight in charming Copenhagen. Star Princess' Scandinavia/Russia season runs from May 15 through September 12. Seven-day Scandinavia -- Sea Princess ventures to the edge of the Baltic on a week-long journey to some of Scandinavia's most popular destinations roundtrip from Southampton. The first stop is Amsterdam, followed by Oslo, Copenhagen, and the Swedish port of Helsingborg. This special sailing departs on July 15. Early Booking Discount fares for Princess' Scandinavia cruises begin at $1,099 per person for a seven-day sailing and $1,540 for the 10-day voyages, based on double occupancy. Logie Posted April 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2005 What Princess forgets to mention is that "stepping out" in Russia is not all as simple as that for your overnight stay......you need a visa (hard to get) or an organized tour as no one is allowed to roam free in Russia. it is quite a cruise and a magnificant experience!!!
