shinyshoes Posted March 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2012 Just booked on the cruise connect coach from Leeds to Soton. The luggage rules are 'Two medium cases max 20kg'. I do not need two cases but I use one large case max weight circa 18kg. The reason I use this case is that it is hard shell with 4 wheels and is just absolutely perfect for my requirements being very easy to wheel and contains all my kit with the minimum of creasing. Does anybody know how strictly the rules are interpreted? SS

eratog2 Posted March 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2012 I'm booked on Cruise Connect as well, from Heathrow to Southampton having flown in from Cyprus the day before - I will have one suitcase which is (I think) a 30" case, and will be the 20kg (ish) - are they that strict that if it was say 25 kgs they would refuse it? I will also have a small trolley case

Therein lies the problem however. What do they think is really big? SS
Alibobs Posted March 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2012 One man's large is another man's medium so I don't see how they can really enforce this? Before we join the QM2 in June we are travelling to NY from Niagara on the Maple Leaf train - Amtrak clearly state that the maximum case size is 28" so we know exactly where we stand. (Fortunately no limit to the number of cases we can take, unfortunately hubby only has two arms!)

Oh Well that's OK then, Amtrak didn't quibble about my 'BIG' case so I guess it's not so big after all, it just looks a bit hefty to me.
