Help!!!!!Princess or Carnival

Trying to decide between a southbound Princess or Carnival Alaskan cruise. Pricing is out for Carnival's Spirit for 2006 but still waiting for pricing from Princess. We have been on both lines many times for the Caribbean. Right now we have booked with Spirit for June 21 2006 but still deciding if we should change to Princess. We are two families with a total of 4 teens. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

Our advice would be book on Princess. We had 2 past cruises on Carnival..Inspiration was wonderful (first cruise) and Trumiph (very disappointing) due to poor custumer service and unfriendly crew staff. The food was the exact menu we had on the Inspiration 1 year prior.

GO PRINCESS:)

Depends on where you want to go. Your teenagers will have more fun on Carnival, and the food is better on Carnival than what we experienced on Princess. The Alaskan cruise would be more educational and scenic. It would be hard for anyone here to tell you what cruise to take.

I agree with Spongerob. We've been to a lot of ports in the Caribbean and took an Alaskan cruise last June. Each destination has a lot to offer. If you are mostly concerned with your teens, let their interests help you decide. If they are crazy about water sports (snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, sailing, etc.), do the Caribbean route. If they enjoy adventure activities, amazing scenery, fascinating history, etc., do the Alaskan cruise. (Interestingly, after a while, a lot of Caribbean ports start to seem pretty similar. Each Alaskan port, though, was totally unique. I wish we'd brought our kids on that cruise!) We've only cruised on Carnival and Royal Caribbean so far (our first Princess cruise is set for this December), and Carnival really is great for teens.

Bottom line: let your teen's interests AND YOUR PREFERENCES guide your decision. You need to enjoy the cruise, too! And trust me -- the kids will have so much fun on the ship, they probably won't care too much WHERE the ship is going!
