mwsrccl Posted April 25, 2005 #1 Posted April 25, 2005 We just returned from an 11 day Empress of the Seas cruise that stopped in Margarita Island. We had pre-booked a tour with Marlene Lunar and I must say it was a great experience. Marlene really showed us the Island and introduced us to the people and culture. The tour lasted about al day and included a great lunch stop at El Pacifico Restaurant on Playa El Agua Beach (We had to pay for lunch) It was more than worth the $30.00 pp we paid. You can reach Marlene at coralservices@hotmail.com or call her at 0414-0414-7909982. Also I saw nothing on the Island that made me scared to be there like previous posters had stated. There is a lot of stuff to see and do! If you stay on the boat at this port you are missing a great island.
cruiseapril Posted May 23, 2005 #2 Posted May 23, 2005 We also had a good tour guide on Isla Margarita- he was humorous and helpful as well as a font of information. We did La Restinga Lagoon, the Botanic Garden, and (funky) Zoo. This tour will appeal to those who like to hike and do adventure excursions in the heat. We zoomed around in little boats, tromped through the gardens, and saw a zoo with what I would call inadequate cages. But it was fun and truly an adventure. cruiseapril
SqueakyDust Posted May 25, 2005 #3 Posted May 25, 2005 Cruiseapril Who did you do your tour with, and if I may ask, how much did it cost you? What you did is what I was planning on doing when we go in December. Do you think a 9 year old and a 10 year old would find it fun and be able to cope with it all? Thanks :o)
