St. Petersburg - 2 Day Visit - Multiple or Single Entry Visa?

Recommended Posts

I posted this on the Baltic/Northern European board and received no replies, so I thought I'd post it here. Incidentally, I've gotten 2 different answers from ZVS, the visa service.

I plan on seeing St. Petersburg on my own, obtaining my own visa. Our ship will be there 2 days, with one overnight. If I have a single entry visa, and depart the ship the first day, and return that evening, is the return to the ship considered an exit from Russia, such that I wouldn't be allowed off the second day?

My guess is that since you haven't left territorial waters, you haven't left the country by going back on the ship. Maybe you should stay in a land hotel overnight to be sure. (I'm sure someone on this forum has run into this situation and will give you the real answer.) :)
