Ideas for 3 Couples?

Just booked our 14th cruise and this time with two other couples. This is new for us - usually family or girls trips so far.

I'm looking for any tips to make it special for all of us. We are good friends and all pretty easy going. We are open to organized activities, etc, games and so forth.

If you've sailed with other couples and have expertise to share, I'm all ears.

PS - if it matters, 2 couples have an adjoining door so I'm thinking cocktail hour each night at one of the rooms with Bon Voyage liquors and mixers from Lido?

I like the cap as it protects from the sun and can be worn before, during and after the cruise. You can pick up a cheap cap for $5-10 and have it embroidered at a mall kiosk for $15. Have a great time.

Chefs table is a great idea! We saved a good bit on the cruise. I think it's $75 pp but with six of us, I wonder if there will be many others.

Good idea!!

The CT holds up to 14-16 people. It is $75 pp and tips are included, but most of us always leave $10 tip each(not required), as the service is so great and after 3 1/2 hours of service, it seems well worth it. If you decide to do it, if you let me know what ship you are going on, I have seen a thread that will give you the e-mail address for the MD and you can make a reservation ahead of time(I would say to do it 2 months our or less).

Otherwise, when you get on the ship, there might not be 6 seats left. Also, some ships have 2 nights of CT. Trust me, we have done 3 CT and will do one every cruise and all people on the CTs thought it the best thing they had done on board a cruise ship. Carnival does it best-Princess did a similar one and it was terrible compared to Carnival.

Before you go, have a you tube night. If you can get your computer hooked up to a large tv, make popcorn, snacks then watch some you tube videos showing your ship your ports, and excursions that you have planned.

Did you have all the bookings linked and choose the same dining option? You could have ball-caps embroidered for the guys and T-shirts made for the gals. Have a great cruise.

Even though all of our bookings were linked in our group last year, our dinner seatings were not linked, so as soon as you get on board, make sure you have the same table, unless you are doing my time. They are very willing to rearrange seating if they need to. :)

Maake sure everyone is on the same page regarding togetherness and personal time. If one of you thinks you all have t be together every waking moment, and others don't, it will be a problem.

This is an absolute must! You don't want to spend your vacation waiting on others. When we traveled with others, we took along Post-its and posted on eachothers' doors, "We are at the ____, join us if you wish." It was understood that everyone could do what they wanted/when they wanted and were not required to spend every waking minute together. We always had dinner together and were able to discuss the day's events.

Good thinking and we have already handled the awkward "pre-gaming" phase of this. Pretty much separate during the day unless it happens naturally, then cocktails, dinner and something as a group each night. After that, to each his own. I'm casino, they are dancing, the other couple the show, etc.

That's why I'm looking for ideas for our "one thing each night as a group"...Someone at home suggested Left Right Center with quarters on deck or in the library which is a great idea.

For sure, apart time is bigimportant. We've even already decided that we will pose for ONLY 3 pics - Embarkation, Formal Night and ramp in Nassau - that's it.

Keep these thougths coming. I'm all ears!

We always bring a deck of cards or LRC game and meet poolside in the afternoon on sea days and play games - lots and lots of fun!

I agree with previous posters - we travel in couples all of the time; but our number one rule is "this is what we are doing today, if you'd like to join us, we'll be ready at 9:00am - if you are not ready at 9, we'll see you at dinner." We always meet at the casino bar for happy hour cocktails before dinner.

Another fun thing is to meet one night and have a group picture taken. Do something silly - doesn't necessarily have to be formal night. Although - we did get together formal night and in our "dress up" clothes, all got down on the floor sitting with our backs all facing one direction, one right in front of the other with our legs spread apart like we were all rowing a boat. Its one of my fave all time pics! :D
