NCL Owner's Suite Perks

I put that code in for my sailing and it only offered the discount for the mini-suites and rooms below that.
.

That's why I was emphasizing the "qualifying" part. NCL is being very selective in how this discount code qualifies

Looks like your cruise is being restricted compared to the two cruises I booked. At least the AARP promotion code applies more widely and you were able to benefit from it.

I don't believe that is so. I have used it for booking an owner's suite and a deluxe owner's suite on two qualifying cruises 9 months in advance.

The key is that it must be a qualifying cruise. Not all sailings 9 months in advance qualify.

Same on Hotwire. As soon as you hit SF the discount drops to 5%.

The $50 credit and 5 nights free hotel didn't hurt either

Did you try this promotion code on NCL's website? NCL may restrict it's use on other sites. On my two cruises the NCL showed the 10% discount on all room categories. Price it on NCL's website and see how the price compares.

I did. Same as Hotwire. The 10% discount only appears up to the mini-suites.

What's weird is that on the NCL site, there's no 5% discount either, but there is on Hotwire. Might be a different AARP code.

Thanks again for trying to help me save some $$$.

Looks like you have exhausted all the possibilities. Oh well, we tried. Happy to suggest other possibilities, but wish they had worked out for you. Enjoy your cruise.

The Hotwire setup was awesome. It offered every combination of discounts, including discounts that the NCL site didn't.

Take a look at it. Never hurts to find a better deal...and I'm pretty good at that, even when the cost is on the high side.

Thanks for the suggestion about hotwire. I haven't used it as of yet. I'll give it a try.

One more quicky:

Are the deposits for a Deluxe Owner's still $250 ?

there will be 4 of us. So $1000 total.

Or do "suite" people pay 2 times the standard deposit?

I booked through Hotwire for 2 people.

The deposit was $1500 with the balance due next January.

Can you still buy bottles of liquor before, and have them in your room?

Don't like wine.

Pretty sure Bar Setup is not available on the POA due to local Hawaiian laws. But call and ask NCL just to be sure.

Deposit for Owner's Suites are higher than for other cabins. I can't find it on NCL's website right now, but I know that any "Haven" suites (and possibly high level suites on non-Haven ships) require a higher deposit, maybe $750 per person or more.

When I did a fake booking on NCL's website, they wanted $1000 for the 4 of us.

That was for the Deluxe owner's, so thanks for the heads up.

I guess they hit you when you complete the booking.

You're getting that because of the current SummerWAVE promotion, which ends today. Part of that promo is "Half-price Deposits." After today, it will go back up to $2,000. ;)

Norwegian Cruise Line

You also get Haven Access if the ship has the Haven, Breakfast and Lunch at the suite restaurant, This is Cagneys on most ships, The Haven on Epic, etc.

You get priority boarding, disembarking, and tendering if you go to a port requireing tendering. You will be escorted to your suite by the Concierge or someone in their staff. You can ask the butler to inpack for you, but we normally don't. Owners suites and above (DOS & GV) get reserved seating to shows, but it's normally in the balcony on the side, so we tend to just go early to get a better seat.

Enjoy:D

Walter,

Much congrats! You will love the NCL suite life.

Re: tips. There are many threads on this subject. I travel with my mom in 2 bdrm suites. I tip the butler and concierge each $10 a day. I expect my mom tipped $7.50-$8 per day. I also tipped the waitstaff in Cagneys and our stewards were so great gave them each extra.

Thanks for your kind wishes. The more I think about it, the more I realize that a year is so far away.

Thanks for the info on tipping.

I did read a couple of other threads and got the impression that 10-20 per day for the butler was about right depending on how much you utilize their services.

The conceirge, once again, depends on how much you use them.

I did get the idea though, that tipping should be a one-time thing and always at the end of the cruise.

Correct on each count.

A year is far away! But you'll have all that time to spend building your cruise anticipation, and in my humble opinion, that is half the fun! (well, okay, maybe only 10%, but it's still fun!) :D

Couldn't agree more.

Thankfully, I have a couple of other non-cruise vacations already planned before the cruise to keep me busy.

Not sure of all the specifics but there is an OBC (on board credit) promo going on. If you book a suite and pay for it with an AE card you get a $500 OBC. Definately worth looking into. The promo code is AMEXOBC

Thanks for that info.

I already got the best deal through Hotwire: $400 AARP discount, $50 room credit and 5 free nights of hotels via Hotwire.

Hopefully, some others will see your post and take advantage of it.

Thanks again.
