Conquest credit & Port time's change

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are leaving on the Conquest on 9-11-05 and the price has already dropped. It is only $30 pp, and since we have already made full payment, we got it back on our credit card.

 

Then I received a letter from Carnival yesterday stating that they changed our port times in Jamaica and Cozumel to be there an hour earlier.

Does anyone know why they have done this? I don't mind at all, just curious.

We were on the Conquest in early March. We arrived in port much earlier than was stated on the itinerary in both Jamaica (arrived at 7:30am and itinerary said 9am) and Cozumel (arrived-8am, intinerary 10am). Grand Cayman we were right on time(7am).

 

Our tour guide in Jamaica said that the Conquest was always in port by 7:30am. Maybe they are finally changing the time to give people a more accurate schedule. I often wondered if they posted the times wrong so that people would be hesitant to book excursions with outside operators.

Doesn't seem likely, but do you think they screwed up calculating Daylight Savings Time?

I am pretty sure that GC and Cozumel do not observe DST. But, I have been known to be wrong. :)

Does anyone know if Jamaica does DST?

I think they do this, at the request of the ports. They tell them what time they can dock, if I remember correct. maybe someone can shed some light on this
