This is a promotion that I never understood. What is the fascination with a half priced deposit? It's not like it anything given away or a price reduction.

Some people, like myself have a hard time placing a full $500 dollar deposit during booking process. By having a half deposit, it makes it easier to lock in a better cabin and book a cruise when they are sales/promotions going on

I'm glad it works for you. I guess I have never gotten that worried about a "better" cabin. I haven't found too many side promotions going along with a reduced deposit promotion. Or, maybe I just haven't paid that close attention.

We love the half price deal. Even better on board because you spend the $250 and get an instant $100 obc.

 

We're going to book no matter what. We're going to pay the price of the cruise no matter when, but we love having $100 deducted from our bill onboard. And our certificate holds our reservation until we pay it off. Just a little perk we appreciate.

I hear you. I am booking two cabins so the reduced deposit does help plus the addtional OBC during the Dash Sales make it a no brainer for me.
