We are booked on the Oriana in July. Have never sailed P&O before. Do they have a drinks package like the ones on Oceania where you can have wine and beer with meals for $29.95 per day, or the full $49.95 per day package which gives you any drink at any time in any bar and includes wine with meals?

No.

But you see the prices are much cheaper than US ships and NO 15% added service charge either. Also you can take on wine/spirits/soft drinks for cabin consumption as well which is not allowed on US ships, so overall probably cheaper on P&O ?

Yes, I did, and enjoyed it. We have been on 3 other cruiselines, but not P&O before. Are looking forward to out first cruise out of Southampton - no flying!! Thanks for your help. Pat.

  • 2 weeks later...

One of our concerns with going on a US ship was drinks prices and the tip issue, but we were happy to find a 750ml can of Fosters was equivalent to £3 a pint, large bottles of Grolsch with flip tops £3.50.

Wine was available at £13 a bottle and plenty of choice at less than £20 a bottle. All barristas coffes were £1.60 with multibuy discount cards available for caffeine addicts.

Unless you have a serious drink problem the difference in costs between US and UK shouldn't dent the wallet too much.
