Nassau on a Sunday

We will be arriving in Nassau on a Sunday at 0700 and leaving at 2:00 pm. I have read that the shops aren't open until 1100. Is this true? If so, what do you recommend doing in port?

More like 10am... but you're in luck these days. Bahamian Artisans are on the sidewalks along Bay Street with authentic bahamian crafts and products on the weekends. They set up to be open by 9. Some before that.

Check them out. You won't be disappointed. Just walk straight from the exit up Parliament Street to Rawson Square. They will be lined up along the right side.. starting at Scotia Bank.

Great info, we will be there on a Sunday as well and I prefer buying the authentic crafts from the area:)

Junkanoo Beach is a short walk from the ships. When you leave the port turn right on Bay Street and walk about a half mile. The beach is on your right. You can see the ships from the beach, plus there are stores all the way there and back.

Google Nassua Maps and you can see the beach and the street layouts.

We are arriving on a Sunday as well but have all day. I don't know why the lines would show up on a Sunday at 7 and only stay part of the day. Seems like most don't have a long ways to go to the next stop. Anyway, the excursions still run early. We have booked a Segway tour. There are two. One is out of town on private property where you ride through trails with a stop at the beach. The other is in town and goes to the fort near the zoo and through the Fish fry. They do the excursions for some ships but Royal Caribbean doesn't use them so we were able to book direct. We have a 0900 start time which will give us time afterwards for lunch at the Fish Fry and possibly time on the beach!
