silvercrikhix Posted June 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Our BFF's got the call last night! They took the offer! Carnival Spirit to Alaska on 6-26-12. They had inside 4233 for $739/pp Upgraded to obstructed view balcony, above lifeboat, 5239 For $864/pp. I would have took the offer too if I were them. They now have a balcony and couch. It's their 1st cruise too, so happy for them!

silvercrikhix Posted June 7, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Happy if they are but if they looked at current pricing suspect not much of a bargain if at all. Maybe, but I checked last night, but if they booked it now instead of a year ago, as they did the inside, it was $1,400/pp . Considering it is Alaska in late June/early July, also. They also have $200 OBC from past ES price drops, I forgot to add in. So I guess the price is actually $764/pp for it, even better!
hassellcastle Posted June 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Although we've been on two Carnival cruises and our 3rd is just a little over 30 days. I made it a point to calculate on a piece of paper what additional cost it would be to go to our Oceanview Room to Balcony or Suite. Now that I have these numbers written out, I can now see if their offer is worth it or not...granted they call. Also from seeing others post on the subject. It looks to me like you have some bargaining power if they call you (ie: don't take their first offer, dicker with them). So for our family of 4, to upgrade to a Balcony would cost us $440. To upgrade to a suite would cost $1620. Now I know if they call.....they may offer it...but I'm going to counter offer it.
