artvlay Posted June 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2012 I am staying near Victoria Station, and wanted to go into a Sainsburys, but the one in the Station is a Sainsbury Local. Is this like a convenience store (7-11) in the states, with higher prices and a limited selection?
John Bull Posted June 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2012 Yes, it's a neighbourhood shop. Tesco Express is the same thing. Much more limited selection of brands & speciality products than their main supermarkets, but perfectly acceptable for everyday needs. Not too sure about prices. I think their nearest superstore is in Wilton Road, a ten minute walk http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=99+Wilton+Road,+London+SW1V+1DT&hl=en&ll=51.494517,-0.142286&spn=0.004115,0.017853&sll=50.901571,-1.402581&sspn=0.009337,0.017853&oq=99+Wilton+Road,++LONDON,+SW1V+1DT&hnear=99+Wilton+Rd,+City+of+Westminster,+London+SW1V,+United+Kingdom&t=m&z=16&layer=c&cbll=51.492862,-0.140739&panoid=B7wQBxmI7BQkX5Fk0G7ENw&cbp=11,290.4,,0,0 JB :)
chaz2010 Posted June 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2012 There is a larger Sainsburys across the street from the station, facing north

LondonTowner Posted June 22, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2012 If you turn left out of the station along Wilton Road, there is a very large branch of sainsburys.
