Suggestions Please! - Galveston departure

Ok we need to get 7 people with luggage to a nice hotel that has a shuttle to the port - we are flying into Bush Intl Houston Saturday and leaving on the Carnival Magic on Sunday

So any suggestions that people have done would be great! Also if we could use the same mode of transp to get back to the airport when our cruise returns.

Thanks in advance

Try them through one of the hotel websites. I have heard that sometimes HH will accept a one night booking. Don't give up:D

2 night minimum can also depend on the date and if there is a festival, Dickens on the Strand, Mardi Gras etc. going on. Then all hotels will have a 2 night minimum.

Love Gaido's restaurant and the Pelican Club, but not their motel. Okay for those that need really inexpensive accomodations, but it is nothing to write home about, very basic.

It is on the Seawall Blvd. at 37th with no provisions of transport to the pier.

That is putting it mildly. Of all the hotels in Galveston this would be at the very bottom of the list.

We stayed at the San Luis Resort in Feb. It was gorgeous. We did take a town car. He was great. It was right on the seawall. Service was wonderful. Rooms are beautiful Nice pool and bars. Great places to eat. We loved it. Would go back next time again.

Where did you get your town car?

The Galvez, sister hotel to The Tremont and facing the Gulf of Mexico, offers shuttle service.

Galvez is where we are staying. 2 nites at $210/nite but they have "free" parking and shuttle to & from the terminal. The hotel looks awesome. :)

To kiraryker, We took a limo from Z limo. My husband and I took it from Hobby. My brother and his wife flew into Bush. They were great. Nice town car. He was there waiting when we got off the plane. Met us at the baggage. We loved them. Would use them again when we go back to Texas. Took us to San Luis. We walked to everything.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites on the Seawall in April and it was good and they have a shuttle. Also have stayed at the various Holiday Inn's on the island which have shuttles. Try Galveston.com website for more hotels.

We stayed in the San Luis a couple of weekends ago. The hotel is gorgeous and rooms are nice, but you really don't want to be there if there's some kind of function going on. We packed up and came home at 3am after we woke up the second time for the screaming and loud party 2 doors down. (Security had already been sent up once)

We always eat at Gaido's...really great food. We've also started going to Yaga's too. It's on the Strand, same street as LaKings. And Miller's Cafe on the seawall around 34th street has really good breakfast.

And we've used a car service a couple of times going out of Galveston and to the airport. We go back and forth between Lane and Avanti. Both have been reliable.

You can never go wrong with the Hilton on the seawall...... its awsome and close to eating places and a krogers for that last minute item you forgot..... they have a free shuttle and free parking (may not be appealing for you since you flew).... rooms are very nice.... have fun!

Correct

it is in my opinion one of better 5 hotels in Galveston,

close to alot of things, beach across street, next door to San Luis Hotel (a sister), near Krogers and parking and transfers!

If events are occuring in town, prices will vary,

it could expensive or require 2 nights!

One of two nice convention centers in Galveston is next door!

Hotel is owned by Landry's Hotels and Restaurants Group

It's easier to list the properties that Landry doesn't own.:p
