S.S.Oceanlover Posted May 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2005 Just wondering if I was the only nut that saved casino chips from their cruises. I always bring back a $5 casino chip from whatever ship I'm on as the chips have the names of the ship I'm on. It's a cheap souvenir and I never come home broke! :D Bill

johnql Posted May 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 8, 2005 Yes, I've been collecting chips for years, primarily $5 chips from Las Vegas, but also any casino that I've actually been in, including cruise ship casinos. It's a great piece of memorabilia for remembering trips.
tootiesmom Posted May 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2005 We have over 500 casino chips !! We collect them from every casino we can. We have several from cruise ships but mostly Las Vegas (and surrounding area) and Atlantic City. All of our friends know that we collect chips and when they are on vacation, many of them will remember us with a chip. We have several from Aruba now and Puerto Rico. tootiesmom :D
johnql Posted May 8, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2005 For anybody interested, there will be a chip convention in Las Vegas in August. It's an annual event held by the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club (CC>CC). This year, it's going to be at the Riviera Hotel, Aug 3-6, 2005. If you want more details about the convention, check out the following link at the club's web site: http://ccgtcc.com/2005_convention.html
ronjj66611 Posted May 27, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2005 I only have one chip that I've saved. I got it in the grand casino in Monte Carlo on my honeymoon in '95. It brings a lot of special memories back. (not only because I won a lot of money that day!:D ) It's a beautiful see through red and it's in our honeymoon album. They are packed in our suitcase so that we can spend them on next weeks cruise. :D
CAPinBoynton Posted May 29, 2005 #9 Share Posted May 29, 2005 legalslave, You mentioned that you put your chips in albums. Is there an album made especially for chips? If so, where can I get one? Thanks,
johnql Posted May 30, 2005 #10 Share Posted May 30, 2005 You mentioned that you put your chips in albums. Is there an album made especially for chips? If so, where can I get one? I'm not legalslave, but I can give you a couple leads. Check out the following sites to see what's available: http://www.safepub.com/Catalog/chips/chips.htm http://www.dice702.com/mainsupplies.html I've bought albums from both places. The first link sells higher-quality, more expensive albums. The second one sells decent, moderately priced albums.
legalslave Posted May 30, 2005 #11 Share Posted May 30, 2005 Cap, I asked my husband where he purchased his and he said on the internet but he can't remember exactly what site. It was at least 5 years ago or longer. I clicked on the links that John provided and what hubby has is similar to the albums on the the second site john listed and paid about the same.
