Tennisnuts2 Posted August 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Is it possible for travelers 75 and older to get medical evacuation/repatriation insurance to supplement the Cruisecare Travel Insurance policy's measly evacuation allowance of $25,000? MedJet and all the other insurance I find on the Internet will not write policies for older people. Has anyone found a source for folks like us? cruiseco Posted August 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2012 IF you are a US resident you can choose from any of the most popular plans out there and insure a $0 trip cost to get all of the plan benefits escept for trip cancellation/interruption. For example, with the TravelSafe Classic plan you'd get $1,000,000 of evacuation/repatriation coverage along with the following from their general exclusions: "14. due to a Pre-Existing Condition, as defined in the Policy. The Pre-Existing Condition Limitation does not apply to the Emergency Medical Evacuation or Return of Remains coverage; or" For those in the upper age brackets taking the pre-existing exclusion completely off the table can be important. http://www.travelsafe.com or any of the popular comparison sites

Louise22 Posted August 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2012 If you go with Medjet and are a member of AARP be sure and ask for the discount. I am assuming it would still apply with the higher age category coverage. :)
sail7seas Posted August 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2012 I'm surprised to read MedJet insures for folks over 75. I thought I read in their policy they do not. I'll have to look again. Thanks for mentioning that.
