How do you arrange a group activity?

I have heard of slot pulls, cabin and pub crawls. They sound like fun for a group. What are they exactly?

First off, join a Meet & Greet group for your sailing date. If there isn't one started yet, start one. Have never done the slot pull but the cabin crawl is where people sign up in your Meet & Greet for people to go as a group from each person's cabin that has signed up for it. It's a way to see the different cabins. Some offer drinks and snacks to their guests, others don't. Some play poker bingo where each cabin hands out a card to each person. At the end the person with the best poker hand wins.

The pub crawl is just the group going from one pub to another. DS went on one and said most of the group was pretty hammered by the time they got to the last pub. That one was a ship activity and the assistant CD led the group.

I'll try to explain the slot pull (I've participated, but not lead). You get a group of individuals to commit to coming to the casino at a particular time, and you all put in $xx amount (ours was $20). At the start of the pull, everyone's $$ is put into ONE machine. The group takes one pull each in order, for an agreed upon number of rounds (ours was 6). The "host" of the pull keeps track of what each person spins. At the end of the agreed upon rounds, you can continue one round at a time if the group agrees. When you all decide to cash out, the money is divided equally. In our pull, it was in the rules in advance that whoever had the best pull got any $$ that couldn't divide equally. I vaguely remember other rules being established in advance such as we always bet max etc.

Our hostess arranged with the casino host that our top 3 folks got a prize. It was alot of fun -- we put in $20 and got $26 back, and my husband won a tshirt & a free drink for being the #2 winner. I'd do one again.

Thanks for the info. We are a group of family and friends celebrating a 50th birthday, male btw. Can anyone think of a way to make a cabin crawl about the "birthday boy"? We are on a 4 day cruise on the Inspiration, but we do have one sea day. Maybe do something special for him at each cabin. I'm thinking something crazy and fun. Thanks for any input.

I am hosting a Slot Pull for our upcoming cruise on the Freedom. We have 62 people signed up! How we have it planned is we pay $16.00 to play. $15.00 will go into the machine and $1.00 will go into the bonus pot. We will choose a $1.00 machine with a $3.00 max to do our slot pulls. Each person will take their turn for 5 pulls. The total for each person's turn will be tallied on a spreadsheet and the person that won the most on his or hers spins will win the bonus pot and any money that can't be divided equally.
