Food Review - Allure of the Seas 9/23/12

Recommended Posts

My husband and I was looking at your review last night, and we both want to say thank you! We will be sailing on Allure in April! We can't, wait this will be our first cruise!!! Love the pictures of the food and the menu! This will help us plan everything better. I think we will be eating in the mdr every night. I was a little worried because he loves sea food and I don't. But as I seen in your pictures there will be lots of choices for me too :D Thanks again

Oh yeah. I'm allergic to most seafood, and I had no problem finding something to eat! I hope you can find something that works for you :)

Great post. Love the pics.

We are cruising on the Allure next week on a Western itinerary. Can you share the "themes" for the rest of the nights? We want to decide which night(s) to go to the specialty restaurants.

Day 1 Mojo

Day 2 Saffron

Day 3 Pimento

Day 4 ****ake

Day 5 ???

Day 6 ???

Day 7 ???

Thanks.

Thank you, i've been waiting on a thread like this to tide me over until my cruise in May.

Great pics, just one question - did you notice if there were allowing you to change the type of potato etc on dishes because i hate any potatoes done with cream?!

The themes weren't always very present in the dishes. I would pick based on the menu selections rather than the theme.

Thank you SO much for posting menus and pics for the westen. I can see I am going to have to stop eating from now until Sunday!

Food looks great, can't wait to try the new items.

Don't even worry, just make sure you do a lot of activities. You will be walking so much on the ship that you will be fine. I had a room at the very very very front of the ship, and I literally walked my food off everyday.

Hmm, I do not know if they would let you change them if they aren't on the nights menu. I do know that with my allergies they let me remove certain items, or substitute them if they are available with another dish that night. What we noticed was that the people who were friendly, and didn't treat their waiters like they were just waiters were given better service.

Like some people would just order and move on. But we chatted, laughed, asked questions, and engaged with our waiter and he was more than happy to go out of his way to help us make adjustments to the menu and we even got extra food certain nights (extra lobster!).

If you are doing MyTime, I would suggest trying to get a seat with Dwight. He works table 831-834. We made it our goal to be seated with him every night because of his personality and service.

Just don't be afraid to ask, what is the worst that can happen? :)

It would be items that were already on the menu i would ask to change to or rice like i did last year on Grandeur which was easy to do.

I know what you mean, we noticed the way some people spoke to the waiters and it was horrible - they were so rude! - I get people speaking to me like that since i work with the public and it really annoys me. You can't expect someone to be nice and polite to you if you're not to them!

Thanks. I pulled a chart from one of the other threads with the menus and figured the items are the same under each theme regardless of which ship you are on. I just needed to know which nights were which.

Thank you so much for your food review! I have been a little apprehensive about the new menu. We're going with friends this March that I talked into RCCL bragging on the food, and then the menu changed.

A couple of questions though, I always enjoy the chilled soups, how was the banana? It looked really good.

And the seafood civiche? Is the seafood cooked? How's the spices with it?

Also, I love New England Clam Chowder but that looked really thin. How was it?

Did anyone try the escargot?

Now I'm looking forward to the food and I can tell the others it looks good.

I cross referenced your photos of the menu with the attached link and some of the themes are different than what is shown on the menu. Can you tell me what some of the entrees are on the "Basil" menu? Is it the Brushed Cod Fillet, Chicken Cordon Bleu, etc? Thanks again.

Hey guys, just got off the Allure of the Seas and have plenty of pictures of the new menu deliciousness my party encountered on board. I'll throw together pictures of the food, the menus, some comments on the meals, and maybe a few misc from the rest of the cruise.

If you have any questions about anything allure, feel free to ask. This is my second trip aboard so I will try my best to answer!

Thank You so much for the FOOD Porn - love all the pics and now I am hungry!!

Do they still have the salad bar during lunch in the MDR? where you go up to the salad and indicate to the servers there whatever you want in your salad ?

Also, what kind of camera are you using ?- these food colors are true to life --

thanx again,

Corkey Carol
