MississippiMom Posted October 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2012 We LOVED Hilton Rose Hall, which we booked through Jamaica for a Day. Yes, it was pricey, but well worth it. Our oldest daughter was old enough to drink in Jamaica, so she loved the bottomless alcoholic drinks, and found plenty of 18, 19 & 20 year olds to hang out with at the swim up bar. Our younger girls had lots of fun with the lazy river and water slides. None of us were interested in the beach, but there is a small one.

We also booked through Jamaica for a day. Great drinks, enjoyed the jerk chicken and festival, and used the swim up bar in the pool quite often. There were other children there as well and they were also having a lot of fun with the colorful non alcoholic frozen drinks. DH had fun on the slides and we both grabbed an inner tube and floated along on the lazy river a few times. There are 2 pools but the first pool you see when you come in is basic, no slides or swim up bar. It's more of a relaxing in the sun pool. As you go around through the walkway, you will see the beach on your left and the fun pool on your right. There are also restaurants there. One inside the hotel, I think, one by the basic pool, and one by the pool with the lazy river/slides. The menu also had other things like salad, burgers, and patties. The beach was small but clean with soft sand and we had no trouble securing a lounger in the shade.
Dwtlcambre Posted October 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Is the Hilton Rose close enough to take a regular cab to on your own, or should you use the transfer service through Jamaica For A Day? we sued them to go to the Sunset last year, but it's so close to the cruise port we just hoped in a cab and it was cheaper. We are just concerned as to how far this one is out and if we should just go with the transfer instead of cab. Also if any one has done this with a cab, how much for around four people to go. Thanks
Dwtlcambre Posted October 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Sorry I forgot to add that we are going to be at Montego Bay cruise terminal. Just trying to see which is cheaper and which makes more sense.
Debordo Posted October 12, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2012 We'll be at Falmouth port and have the same question. We have six in our party so $90 round trip sounds a bit much. Can anyone tell us if it would be less expensive to arrange our own transportation for our size group? Thanks, Debordo

Can anyone tell us if it would be less expensive to arrange our own transportation for our size group? Thanks, Debordo We were in Falmouth as well last month when we booked Hilton Rose Hall. We paid for the transfers through Jamaicaforaday. So, sorry, I do not know how much cab fare would be. It took around 20 minutes maybe for us to get to the resort via the air conditioned shuttle bus that picked us up at the pier. The driver was very professional and the bus was nice, clean, and comfortable. If you are docking in Montego Bay, it is probably cheaper for you to the take a taxi since Hilton Rose Hall is in Montego Bay. I don't know how much Jamiaca for a day charges for round trip transfers to Montego Bay pier, though, since I have never docked there.
Dwtlcambre Posted October 12, 2012 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2012 From Montego Bay cruise terminal, they charge $15 a person. Which for a group of 4 is $60. They say that the trip is 25 minutes on their website, but several people have claimed anywhere from 25 minutes to 45 minutes. Not sure at that distance if a cab would be an cost savings.
