dandtgeddes Posted October 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Gidday! Going on my first RCI cruise this year and I was wondering what the process is regarding registering my DS and DD in the youth area? Both will be in the teen/tween section and sailaway is 11-30pm. When does registration typically open and can the adults get a look at the teen area on day1? I know we are not allowed in there during the cruise. Also, I have read in various places something about wristbands. Are these for the older youth or just the younger children? Thanking you seasoned RCI cruisers in advance. Rare FionaMG Posted October 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2012 On boarding day the youth areas are open-house so you can go along with your kids and meet the staff. There will be a introductory get-together at some time during boarding day and it's very important that they go along to that so that they can meet the other kids right at the start of the cruise. The time for this will be in the Compass, so check that out as soon as you get on board. Wrist bands are compulsory for the under 12s and optional for anyone over that age (and that includes adults, if they want them). The reason for the wristbands is that they indicate your muster station. If your kids are in Adventure Ocean and there's an emergency you are not to go there to get them; the staff escort them to the relevant muster station and they know which one that is because of the wrist band. Hope this helps.

They will see the kids and approach you about signing up and to make sure that your kids (if needed) have their wrist bands.
