Carry on size on Land tour?

I contacted princess about the size of a carry on for our land portionin Alaska. They told me it must be only17X14X4. Where would you get a carry on this small.? Do they really stick to this and what if my carry on is a little bigger?

If it is a little bit bigger you will probably be alright, but if you push it too far, you will end up with it on your lap the entire time. The trains are not much designed for luggage storage, and the big ones get in the way and can't be accomodated. The size is that of a small backpack or book bag size, more of a daybag or overnight bag than an airline carry-on.
