Parasailing

We will be in St. Maarten on Christmas Day. My friend who has been there many times has said to just walk down the pier and there is a beach and shopping and restaurants right there. Is this right? And will we be able to find parasailing at this area? What about snorkelling?

We avoid swimming at Great Bay beach due to pollution issues plaguing this beach. Orient Beach has everything that you are looking for.
