Krazy Kruizers Posted December 15, 2012 #26 Share Posted December 15, 2012 The best lobster rolls that we like are the ones that do not have the "fillers" - no celery -- no mayo. Just buttered lobster on a roll.
sail7seas Posted December 15, 2012 #27 Share Posted December 15, 2012 Take some good-sized chunks of lobster meat, and mix them with some cut up celery, and enough mayonaise to hold it all together in a salad. Then, take a hot dog roll (the kind with the cut on the top, not the side-split), and grill it on both sides. Stuff the lobster salad in the roll until it's overflowing. Serve with a wedge of lemon on the side. Do you want fries with that? (yes!) That is Just how to make it. A real New Englander knows!!!! :D You can always tell a true New Englander by the way they eat/choose their lobsters. :)
sail7seas Posted December 15, 2012 #28 Share Posted December 15, 2012 We ate once at the dockside restaurant -- it was okay - we would never eat there again. We much prefer the Bar Harbor Inn -- we were lucky and got a table near the windows -- wonderful view with wonderful food. That's a shame you did not enjoy your lunch. We just seem to have better 'luck'. Happy you found a place you could enjoy. I agree Bar Harbor Inn has a nice lunch...... But they are not the only place that does. We've had many visits to Bar Harbor and many delicious lunches and without doubt some were better than others but one would expect that,,,,,,,, anywhere.
