Favorite President's Dinner Menu Item

I miss the President's Dinner! I think the chef at the time had worked at the White House and these were from his tenure there.

 

My favorite was the Floating Islands dessert. President Reagan would always ask for a "goodly portion" and I always ordered two!

I don't miss anything from those menus. I think the food quality in the MDR have improved greatly since then.

Ditto, I loved Floating Islands! I really miss that menu. I even miss the Cooking Light selections that used to be on the menus!

I miss several items from those menus, but the one I miss the most is the Hearts of Palm salad. It was divine.

We also miss the President's Dinner. Loved the little captions on the menus telling the story behind each dish. I also have fond memories of the Floating Islands dessert and ordered it each time. We still talk about that menu on each cruise we take. Maybe someday that menu will return.

Floating Islands is a dessert. The base is a very creamy (somewhat soupy) custard, and it's topped with meringue islands floating in it. It's divine.
