OBC Question

This is our first cruise so please bare with me.

So far we have $400 in OBC. My question is, will we still be required put a CC or Cash Deposit against the room? Also, we want to prepay tips. Do I call now and ask it to be taken off the OBC or will that automatically happen when we board?

Thank you :-)

I could be wrong, but I don't believe you can establish an on board account based solely on OBC. I believe you would still need a credit card or cash to set up your account. I would call Carnival to get a definitive answer as to whether you can use your OBC to prepay tips, or if it will have to be done with a credit card.
