Seeking for advice

When you check in, your credit card details are taken, and you're given a ship's card. There's no money spent at all on the ship (apart from the casino, slot machines etc)....you hand your card over, just like a credit card, even if it's just for a packet of crisps.

At the end of the cruise, you'll receive your account, which will already have been taken from your card- you can pay cash...but they like a certain amount up front.

One thing which will have been removed is what they call gratuities- a form of tipping. This differs widely on cruise lines; on American lines it's around $10 to $12 per person per day....say £7 or £8. The Brit ships are between £3.60 to £5, pp,pday. Your OBC-if you're given some- will go towards your final account, for drinks, any excursions you may go on, gratuities, shopping on board etc.

Keep hunting!

Thank you for the explanation. This is very helpful!
