What deck and location do you prefer?

What deck and location do you prefer? I am counting on advice from CC to choose my next stateroom.

We take our kids, so I'm thinking a good location close to pool and pizza maybe. On our previous cruises, we have been mid ship and forward. Never toward the aft. But we found ourselves making the long haul to the back of the ship constantly.

Also, we've never been higher than deck 6. Are there perks to being higher up such as lido deck?

Suggestions please!

It depends on the ship. My choice on a Spirit class ship is different than my choice on a Conquest class ship which would be different than my choice on a Dream class ship.

i see everyone has different opinions, lol. mine is different too. i like to be midship, but unlike others, not right next to elevators because there's a lot of traffic and activity there, and I like to be on a deck that is "sandwiched" between 2 passenger decks (no public spaces above or below the cabin).

This was more impt to me when my kids were young. I wanted the quiet -- no casinos, bands, or dishes clanging above or below me. they're not young anymore, but I still opt for the same because it's always worked out great (don't fix it if it ain't broken), i guess.

if you think you might like this idea, you will have to check the deck plans of the ships you are considering. different classes of ship have different deck plans. so for example, on spirit class ships, the lounges and main areas are on 2 and 3, so you might not want a cabin on 4 (main); but on fantasy class ships, most of the public spaces are on 8 and 9 (Atlantic and Promenade), you get the idea.

Have a great cruise!:)
