Cruisin4US Posted February 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Would anyone that has recently returned from the NCL Sun know the best way to bring on diet coke and water at the Port of Miami? Will they allow you to send it off with the big luggage so you don't have to carry it around while you wait for your room to be ready? Should the coke and water be visible or should it be in a suitcase? Thanks!
ME Guide Posted February 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2013 We have not sailed on NCL but other ships and you should have no problems. Put with your bags at the docks. Put duct tape around the racks and then secure a room luggage tag. We thought we would be smart one time and put two racks of soda in a duffel bag. BIG MISTAKE...those handling luggage did not know and of course that bag got thrown around! When it arrived out side of the room, it was dripping unfortunately and about 7 cokes had split. I just hoped that nobody had drips on their luggage. By the way, the water on board is excellent. Consider buy only a few bottles of water and refill as necessary. We found it easier to bring our own water container and fill with ice and water in buffet. Do not put your container under the spigot in the buffet. Just fill glasses and pour in your own container. We have stopped carrying water on board. Happy Cruising!
youngestof9 Posted February 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2013 slap a luggage tag and give it to the porters. It will arrive in your stateroom :)
CruiserBruce Posted February 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Agree the water on board is about as pure as possible, tastes great, and is free. No need to bring more than one refillable bottle per person on board. No recycling/waste issue either.
