SOShrink Posted February 16, 2013 #26 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Stretchcruz, we are also trying again after canceling our last trip as mentioned above, and will be on Uniworld's River Ambassador also leaving from Amsterdam on April 16th, so if you see an incredibly good-looking bald-headed guy named Steve, that's me! If we are docked near your ship, we'll walk over..
Rare steamboats Posted February 16, 2013 #27 Share Posted February 16, 2013 From Amsterdam to Basel or Budapest you won´t have any problem to find a hospital or doctor nearby. In any case of emergency the ship is able to transfer people to shore even if you´re not close to any town and meet up with an ambulance. I´m not sure whether a US prescription may help you in a German pharmacy but it may help to get a prescription from a German doc. Over here are much more restrictions on meds than in the US. Stuff you get free in the US you need a prescription in Germany like for any kind of antibiotics. Ibuprofen has to be prescribed if you want more than 200 mg pills (and you usally get only up to 20 pills of 200 mg in a package). Having medical insurance for travel purpose is an absolute must!! steamboats
