Rooms opened up now? 2 months before cruising?

I just noticed that it seems like some of the balcony staterooms on our Freedom Apr 14 cruise are now available. When we booked ours in late December we supposedly got the last one on the 7th Deck. Does Carnival save some rooms for late bookings? or has the Triumph incident convinced people to cancel on other ships?:eek:

 

Ideas anyone?

A lot of cabins are now open on my conquest cruise in two weeks, before they were all sold out. I think alot of people have canceled.

I'm not sure how you booked, but if you used a TA or did an online booking not all available cabins are shown.

 

I think there are a few people that will be reluctant to sail after what has happened on the Triumph...and given that this is the 2nd similar incident within a few years on Carnival ships, there will be those that think the problem is Carnival......

 

I don't believe that....engine fires can happen to any ship and I don't buy into the conspiracy theorists idea that Carnival has a poor maintence plan...

 

I would probably take this opportunity to see if there is a cabin in a more desireable location that you could move to....

A likely explanation is that the large TAs have group space that was not filled by a certain date and went back to the cruise line. This is common especially after final payment date has passed. Have a great time on your cruise.

Closer to sail date, they also open up some of the higher capacity cabins (the one that hold 3 & 4) to smaller parties. We saw that recently for our 3/3 Conquest date.

Well, we booked directly through Carnival not through the web and not through an outside TA.

When we booked it was the last balcony room left on Deck 7 and I could see that on the website as well.

 

This being my first cruise, it amazes me that two issues on other ships would freak people out.:confused:
