Hello,

I am traveling with Carnival from New Orleans and I am planning a visit to Chichen Itza with my two teens - I thought that I might save some money if I book the tour myself rather than the tour Carnival offer which is about 80$ each.

Would you say it's a good idea or is it easier/safer to use the Carnival offer?

I was thinking safety like if the buss fails then I assume Carnival will get us back on the ship..

What's your recomendation?

That's the rub. Book it on your own save $$$. Go with Carnival and not worry about having to catch the boat. However, IF you book through Autoprogreso and miss the boat in Progreso, you could catch up to it in Cozumel the next day if you go by land and take the ferry.
