Lisbon terminal -da Rocha

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where this terminal is located? Is it close to town?

Rocha is located immediately to the east of Alcantara cruise terminal (Abril 25 bridge will be seen on your left). You can use google earth to see exactly where it is.

Yes, it is close to town ... short walk to bus/tram (tram 15E, 18E, bus 728, etc.). There are several cruise terminals in Lisbon so when you say "close to town", where are you hoping to go ... which district (i.e. Alfama, Belem, etc.)?

This may help ... the link below is to a map that shows all of the cruise terminals in Lisbon. You can use the zoom tool on the map to see how close Rocha and Alcantara are.

We disembark here and our hotel is close to Rossio station. We were hoping to walk or bus to the hotel (not much luggage). We also want to buy a day bus pass...would there be any place close to buy one?

I don't know anywhere near the Rocha terminal where you could purchase a day pass. However, you can purchase your bus tickets onboard the bus (not day pass). You should be able to purchase your day pass at Rossio station ... not certain though ... information will be on Carris site.

From the cruise terminal you could take Bus 15E from Cais Da Rocha to Praça Figueira or bus #728 from Cais Da Rocha to Rossio (you could walk to your hotel from either of these stops). You can check-out the Carris site for sales outlets, ticket prices, routes, etc.

Below is my google map showing the relative distance from Rocha to Rossio. I suggest that you check-out distances to your hotel using google. Great little tool! :)

It is too far to walk, even with a bit of luggage and the tram could be crowded in the early morning rush hour. The best bet is to take a taxi - not very expensive.

You can buy a 24-hour pass at any metro station.

Where would be the closest metro station to buy a day pass?

There is no metro station near the Rocha terminal. It would be better to take a taxi to your hotel and then go out to the metro from there.
