Flipper133 Posted March 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2013 This might be old news, but we have only now got back from our Solstice cruise and this is first chance I have had to post this. On 25th Feb 2013 the Celebrity Solstice was sailing north of Arnham Land Australia. A 23yo jnr Officer suffered a heart attack and the captain decided to change course to enable the crewman to be evacuated by a Care Flight Helicopter that was being despatched from Darwin. After some 3 hrs the Solstice was some 50 n Miles off the coast and the helicopter arrived (escorted by a fixed wing aircraft). It landed on the front Heliport. the patient was loaded and the chopper headed off back to Darwin. The fore section of the ship was naturally sectioned off so that passengers could not get to see much, but I was able to capture some video as per the attached links. We were advised that the Jnr Officer was critical but stable in the ICU at Darwin Hospital.. cheers
