Shore Excursions, etc...

Recommended Posts

Hello ALL:,

21 days till we leave on our cruise.

We are sailing on the Carnival Conquest out of New Orleans, now for the questions for the experienced cruise connoisseurs.

Personal Info:

4 Adults (Late 30's Early 40's), Active

4 Children: Boys(16, 14), Girls (14, 12)

2nd cruise

Shore Excursions:

Jamacia: We are considering taking a taxi to Sunset Beach Resort, the price is right and sounded good until recently they have gotten alot bad reviews on TripAdvisor. We are looking to do a beach break in Jamaica and a stop at Margaritaville. We have looked at halfmoon cay and Rosehall beach(through carnival). Any advice? Idea's, do's, dont's, etc.......

Georgetown GC: We have booked stingray city with Marvins.

Cozumel: Again we are looking for a beach break.... No firm ideas

Onboard:

How does Carnivals "Soda" card work for the kids, $ etc...., Can you consume duty free alcohol onboard, I have heard yes and no?

General info would be greatly appreciated.

Spend the day at one of Cozumel’s most beautiful beaches and enjoy the unique experience of getting behind the wheel of your very own speedboat.

On this exciting excursion you will:

Take a short bus ride to the beach where the boats are located.

Have a short orientation, get in your boat and head out into the open sea.

Cruise along the northern coastline, passing hidden lagoons and beautiful mangroves

Drive your boat up onto a pristine and secluded white sand beach.

Enjoy a delicious grilled buffet lunch.

Take advantage of the sugar white sands and crystal clear waters at Hideaway Beach.

Relax in the sun or in the shade, go for a walk or play a game of volleyball.

Get back in the boats and make your way back to your ship.

Note: An adult must accompany guests under the age of 18.

Minimum age is 8 years, and guests must be at least 18 years of age in order to operate a boat. This is an active excursion and it is not recommended for pregnant women or guests with back or neck injuries.

Weight limit is 500 lbs. and 2 guests per boat.

SInce you dont have kids under 12-- they wont get free soda in the dining room. Soda cards will cost you 44.00 each card. (that includes gratutity) Good for one cup of soda at a time. (better for each kid to carry on their own 12 pack) Takle a insulated cup for the free ice tea/lemonade or fruitpunch. Choc milk can be had for dinner too. (its not on the menu-- you need to ask for it
