When to arrive at port? Please help, leaving tomorrow out of San Pedro, CA

Hey everyone, have some friends leaving tomorrow out of San Pedro, CA. I have only ever sailed on Royal but they told me they were advised not to show up before 1:30. Now, on Royal we show up at 10:30 for an ~11:15 boarding time but I didn't know if Carnival is similar.

 

If anyone can help me out I wanted to let them know asap so they can set on a time to get to the port.

 

Also, I assume that the rooms won't be ready till 1pm either? Is this pretty standard or maybe just a Royal thing?

The email stating to show up after 1:00pm is sent to almost everyone to spread out the crowd.

I usually show up around 10:00am – boarding usually starts around 11:00am

Cabins are usually ready about 1:30pm

We get there around 11. For the past few months, cabins have been ready around 12:30.

 

FYI - Carnival is out of Long Beach (next to the Queen Mary), not San Pedro.

Are they on the Inspiration? She sails out of Long Beach.

If they are driving they should go south on the 710 and follow the signs to the Queen Mary.

 

Check in starts around 9:30 over at the Queen Mary.

Doors won't open until 11-11:30.
