TaliaBT Posted March 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2013 After a long time that taxis were not allowed to go into the port in Ashdod to pick people from the pier a contract was signed by the port with a taxi station in Ashdod and now you can take a taxi from the pier. There is a dispatcher stand on the pier and it seems for now that it is a well-organized service. They have a price list for the rides or for a use by hours to different destinations. Just remember that no other taxis are allowed to enter the port so if you are taking a taxi from the port and returning with another one you will be able to get only to the port gate and not to the pier. You cannot walk by foot in Ashdod Port so getting to pier from the gate can be done only using the cruise shuttle, if there is one, or the returning excursion busses. TaliaBT Posted April 1, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted April 1, 2013 Do you know how much a taxi would be to Tel Aviv? Thank you The official price is 157NIS (around 43$USD). This is to one way ride. It does not include touring or waiting time. Remember that on the way back using another taxi you'll be able to get only to the gate of the port not to the pier. You can schedule a pick from Tel Aviv with the driver taking you from the pier and that will make sure that you'll be able to get all the way to the pier on your way back. I assume it will involve with some extra cost. If you are looking for a taxi for more than just taking you from A to B you'll have to negotiate with the driver. pris993 Posted July 1, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2013 We are wondering whether there are still shared taxis available in Ashdod to go Haifa, I think they were called "sirrouts" or it would be better to go by train?

I checked the Ministry of Transportation and the Ashdod Port site and there is no mention of a Sherut from Ashdod to Haifa. You would need to take a taxi to the train station which is nowhere near the port and then take a train which has easy connections to Haifa and all other points. The ride itself is beautiful with the tracks next to the Sea north of Hadera
