Are carry on's xrayed or checked upon boarding?

We're planning to bring some wine onboard in our carry on/rolling luggage - do they actually check them or paw through the bags? Xray machine? Just wondering, and thank you!

Xray machine - much like the airline.

They use an X-ray machine just like the ones at the airport. If they see something "suspicious" they will ask you to open your bag, but wine shouldn't be an issue.

 

They run checked bags through an x-ray machine also.

and your bag goes through the same machine every time you return to the ship in ports. Wine is allowed so you will have no issue.
